Yesterday morning, I started a Bible study on the book of John at my church. We’re using a beautiful workbook from The Daily Grace Co.
Each day, you read a few verses. You journal. You slow down. You let yourself go deeper, verse by verse.
During our discussion, our study leader said something I haven’t been able to stop thinking about:
“Everyone in this room will read the exact same verses, and yet everyone will have a different perspective.”
Someone might approach the text as a historian, noticing cultural context and timelines.
Someone else may be more philosophical, wanting to explore the deeper meaning behind the words.
Another person may read it literally and count how many times the word “light” appears.
Same words. Same verses. Different perspectives.
Naturally, I thought about branding right away and realized this is exactly true of your work, too.
Whether you’re a photographer, a copywriter, an interior designer, a wedding planner… there are countless others in your industry doing what you do.
Same tools, same subjects, maybe even some of the same clients.
And yet, no one sees it the way you do.
No one brings your particular mix of instinct, experiences, and talent to the work.
Your perspective is not a detail, it’s the entire purpose.
I would love to remind you not to borrow someone else’s lens, but lean into your own perspective.
Watching someone else’s IG reel, seeing their aesthetic catch fire, and quietly pivoting toward it thinking, “that seems to work for her so I’ll try it too.”
You weren’t designed to replicate someone else’s vision.
You were designed to offer your own.
Own your story. Own your perspective. Own the way you see things, because it’s something no one else on earth can offer.
That is not a small thing. That is everything.
If your brand feels disconnected from who you truly are – if it feels borrowed, diluted, or like a safer version of your real vision – this is your invitation to realign.
Whether that’s through brand design, a refined Showit website, or intentional brand photography, I help creative entrepreneurs build brands rooted in their actual perspective, not trends.
Let’s create something that feels unmistakably yours.
